Bean Salad

This is one of the easiest recipes we have – it’s all done in 10 minutes. It is a famous bean salad of my dad, and it’s surprisingly super tasty

Ingredients


  • 2 cans of red beans (each can about 300 g)
  • 500 g tomato purée
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 1 fat clove of garlic
  • 1 red onion
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 200 g Gouda or similar cheese (we often use St. Pauliner)
  • bread to eat the salad with
  • spices:
    • parsley
    • thyme (a little)
    • basil
    • spicy paprika (optional)
    • salt
    • black pepper

Instructions - Bean Salad


  1. Rinse the beans well through the sieve to wash off the juice from the can (the juice inflates the body the most, if you know what I mean)
  2. Pour the rinsed beans into the bowl and add the tomato puree
  3. Finely slice the red onion, cut cheese into cubes and add to the bowl
  4. Crush the garlic in a garlic press, add some ketchup, olive oil and lightly spice with all the spices
  5. This salad tastes best after a while (about an hour) when the tastes blend beautifully, but it is also good right after it’s finished
  6. Eat the bean salad with fresh or toasted bread
